Project Regtime semi-rigid car suspension Is a conceptually new and unconventional suspension solution, expected to be usefull especially for off-road vehicles and recreational vehicles . The project is not completed, further research and verification work is still under way. Description: Semi-rigid suspension . Structural design is characterized by spatial axle beam, connecting the bottom head pins of the opposite reaction wheels. Axle may preferably be formed in accordance with the spatial disposition of the propulsion unit . The upper reaction pins can be located on the MacPherson units, cross arms and transverse leaf springs. Axles can also be easily conceived with adjustments to the change of ground distance. Innovative aspects: This suspension allows combining the properties of a solid axle and independent multi-link suspension , while achieving the necessary ground distance of the vehicle. A front steering axle with an original shaped axle beam, allowing greater ground distance of the vehicle. The axle (1) is sprung relative to the vehicle frame by spring units (2) and laterally guided by the arm (3). The wheels are connected with her by lower joints (4) and with the vehicle frame by upper bearing (5) spring units. |
A variant of the same axle, but the upper joint (6) connected to the upper frame with a fork-arm (7), and with separate spring units (8). |
